Musical Theater Dance Intensive (MTDI)

Learn what it takes to be a well-rounded performer on Broadway with in-depth training in dance, voice, and acting in Boston Conservatory at Berklee's Musical Theater Dance Intensive. This three-week summer program is designed for talented young dancers who are looking to deepen their performance skills and expand their theater knowledge. With instruction by Broadway veterans and acclaimed faculty, students will study ballet, jazz, and theater dance, with special projects and classes in voice and acting to develop versatile performers. Students will leave the program with stronger skills, valuable professional insights, and the confidence needed to succeed on any stage.

How to Enroll

  1. Submit your registration by May 1.* Begin by submitting your registration online. If applicable, you may need to submit additional supporting materials.
  2. Make your tuition payment by May 1.* All programs have limited capacity, so be sure to complete your full tuition payment to reserve your space in the program.
  3. Request housing by May 1. Students who are 15 years of age or older by the start of their Boston-based program are eligible to stay in on-campus housing. If you meet the eligibility requirements and have indicated that you would like to request on-campus housing, please revisit your registration portal and submit a Residence Hall Agreement.

Requirements

General Requirements

Students and professionals between the ages of 15 and 25 with significant dance experience.

Participants must possess a proficient level of English to enroll in this program. We do not require proof of English language proficiency (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo) as part of the enrollment or application process; however, you are expected to have a sufficient command of the English language to understand class material and assignments.

  • Christian Borle

    Christian Borle

    Christian Borle is a Tony Award–winning actor and writer known for standout performances in Something Rotten! and Peter and the Starcatcher. His Broadway credits also include Some Like It HotFalsettos, and Legally Blonde, alongside a wide range of television roles including Smash and The Good Wife. In addition to performing, he directs and develops new work for the stage.

  • Skye Mattox

    Skye Mattox

    Skye Mattox is a performer and choreographer whose work spans Broadway, film, and television. She appeared in West Side Story directed by Steven Spielberg and has performed in Broadway productions including Carousel and On the Town. Mattox also choreographs and teaches nationally, with affiliations including The Verdon/Fosse Legacy and Steps on Broadway.
