Designed for students ages 11–14, this program develops musicianship, theory, and performance skills through group lessons and ensemble play, culminating in a performance for families and the Berklee Valencia. community.

In this two-week program at Berklee’s NYC campus, you will study musical theater performance and writing in the heart of the New York City theater district, culminating in the presentation of an original musical.

After a quick overview of the media industry today, students will learn the technical and aesthetic challenges in this highly competitive field. They will analyze and spot a film score and become better storytellers through various writing exercises.

Guitar Fundamentals is a comprehensive introduction to the instrument. The course explores basic techniques for chord-playing and melodic improvisation, and introduces a variety of chord forms and scale patterns.

Learn how to use a Digital Audio Workspace as a compositional tool, how to arrange with MIDI, and how to engineer and produce your own recordings.

Learn music theory and gain the foundation you need to take your skills to a higher level by reading, writing, and critically listening to music.

This program enhances participants' performance, theory, production, and technology skills while providing an opportunity to earn up to three undergraduate credits in a multicultural environment at the state-of-the-art campus.
